OSU Dump & Run 2010 kicks off Friday May 21st from Noon to 4PM at the Ohio Union Great Hall Please note the new location. We have moved it to the Union because of the likelihood of rain. We hope to educate fellow students about Dump & Run and the importance of the "reduce, reuse, recycle" philosophy. We will have games (like Frisbee Toss and Recyclable Bowling), activities, and trivia based on the topic and we will be giving away t-shirts and other freebies! We will also have a display of some of the items that can be bought at the Dump & Run sale during Fall Quarter. Aside from promoting the event, we hope to encourage recycling and sustainability at OSU and beyond. We hope to see you there!Help SFR Speed Up Off-Campus Recycling
While SWACO has promised curbside recycling by 2012, students in the off-campus area have very limited means of recycling in the meantime. SWACO has also said that they would place extra drop-off points in the off-campus area immediately, but they have not done so and our calls and emails to them have not had any responses. The amount of waste in the university district is staggering and having a reliable recycling solution available to students is paramount. Please sign our petition to get more recycling bins immediately and check out our Facebook event for more information.SFR Earth Day Events Recaps
Thank you to everyone who attended It's Easy Being Green and our Olentangy Riverfront Cleanup and to those who visited our table on campus and at the Columbus Earth Day Celebration! You helped make this Earth Day the biggest one yet for Students for Recycling. We had, by far, more students than we expected visitIt's Easy Being Green (pictures below). Congratulations to Blythe Worstell for winning the bike raffle! We would especially like to thank everyone that came to our Olentangy Riverfront Cleanup on April 18th. The Ohio State University received an award from Green Columbus for having the most staff volunteer in all of Columbus, beating last year's winner, Limited Brands. Congratulations to Courtney Beam, Stacy Weisfeld, Amber Seira, Anne Mayer, Bianca Briggs, Evan Boylan, and Sarah Gothot for winning commemorative t-shirts signed by Gordon Gee and to Daniel Chow who won the Earth Day UPDATE 2010 shirt. We were thrilled with the level of involvement and voluntarism in the OSU community; your efforts truly make a difference.
If you have any other pictures from the Earth Day events, please email them to Brandon Edwards
